Who is affected by organic policies?

  • Humans and Animals
  • Growers
  • Artisans
  • The Environment

Fewer chemicals on your food and pouring into the environment is not only healthier, but gives farmers and big brother the clear message that your footprint on this planet is being chosen wisely and responsibly.

Criteria of primary importance to growers in creating organic gifts are these:
  • Sustainably Grown
  • Biodegradable, Green Packaging
  • Green Certification.
  • Staying involved in community projects both locally and around the globe, partnerships and charitable involvement.

Research shows the benefits of organics in their results in a study of over 94,000 food samples and 20 different crops. They found that organically grown crops consistently had about one-third as many pesticide residues as the conventionally grown versions. Organic foods also were far less likely to contain residues of more than one pesticide.

Organic Buyers Beware of False and Misleading Organic Labels. If you are not sure about organic labels for fish be especially wary. The USDA does NOT have organic certification for seafood – No matter what anyone says. If your fish says, “Wild, Farm Raised, or Organic,” that means that your fish is imported from another country with that countries ‘organic’ standards, and NOT standards from the USA.  For more information on what is and what is Not organic you’ll find easy to understand and helpful information on this well-written article by Don Blakney called, “Organic Confusion
