5th Wedding Anniversary
5th Wedding Anniversary:
For a 5-year Wedding Anniversary,
the traditional gift is wood, but modern gift ideas are themed around 5th Anniversary-Silverware.
If you are cost conscious, try celebrating outdoors with nature – Dance among the driftwood, hike along a trail you both like, get outside, go outdoors, find that fifth year anniversary gift idea that you both have a special place in your heart for.
If money isn’t a concern, then buy a plant, a tree or a shrub together and have a special stone engraved commemorating it for your back yard or indoor growing (if space is limited). If you both love gardening, have a garden table for outdoors built, garden shed, or potting shed. And, if you like to bird watch – There is always a birdhouse – And we just happen to know a birdhouse builder!
Grounded seems to be the theme celebration with wood, suggesting stability and warmth.
Silverware – For the couple who love entertaining, the chef in the house, or just because gifts work great for other couples gift ideas. Learn some Origami money folding tricks and make cash gifts look like food (like this: Origami Kit- Make Sushi Origami)- wrapped around silverware, or inside wooden serving bowls! Imagination . . . It truly has no limits!
For our 5th year Anniversary, I made my husband this card, wrote these words in it, and we danced around the driftwood on the beach just before nightfall. He was so touched that he rewarded me ‘handsomely’ with appreciation!
You took my two left feet and waltzed away with my heart.
And, at a time when I didn’t dance.
You are the smile in my day
And comfort in my times of sorrow.
You showed me that life is full of spins
and turns and to expect an unplanned dip
once in awhile, just to mix it up.
Thank you for being my solid core
For not seeing me stand on your feet while I learned the steps!
I cannot say, “Thank you!” loud enough!
You are my kind of music and
together we are a symphony.
Happy Anniversary my love!
